8. SET A VISUAL TONE.

Your images say a lot about you. Consider a uniform theme or color tone so your feed has an overall style that stands out and is your own.

7. INVEST IN YOUR EQUIPMENT.

We know high quality cameras aren’t always affordable, but if there is any way to cut corners in other places to be able to get the latest phone or side camera for content within budget, then we suggest you do it.  Make your visual gear a priority. It’s worth the investment.

6. MAKE CONTENT A PRIORITY.

You’re never going to see the growth results you’re looking for if you don’t make your content a priority.  Schedule it into your day as a task equally as important as practicing your craft or making your music.  Your content is an extension of your creative voice and your body of work.  It is the meat and potatoes of an incredible platform where potentially as many people as there are using social media can get to know what you’re about.  Yeah, we’d say that’s pretty important stuff.

5. HAVE A CLEAR MESSAGE.

Maybe your goal is to inspire others or maybe to entertain through visuals or a certain genre of music.  Whatever you’re trying to say, just know what it is, who you’re trying to say it to, and why.  This will help you understand your value and keep your audience returning to consume this content because it is so valuable to them.

4. CARE MORE ABOUT QUALITY.

People get bombarded with just about a million online visuals a minute.  What makes yours any different or more intriguing?  Paying close attention to great quality really goes a long way when you’re trying to stand out from the  bunch like a needle in a haystack.  It shows you care to provide your audience with the best quality content possible and it raises your value!

3. SET GOALS IN WRITING.

Go ahead.  It’s not too ambitious to set a followers goal.  Do it weekly or monthly, but do it.  Write it down with a specific number and date by when you’d like to see it realized.  You’ll see how powerful it can be to know exactly what you’re after in a certain amount of time.   Believe it and….DO IT.  Did we say that enough times?

2. SQUAD UP.

Many of the most popular social media influencers work in groups.  You’ll notice that you’ll find people from the same “squad” popping up in each other’s content.  This network can be very powerful.  Try teaming up with like-minded content creators that can help create a synergy and crank out ideas and content at a quicker rate and with a set calendar and strategy. The saying holds true: There is power in unity. Give it a try!

1. PLAN AHEAD.

PLAN A STRATEGY.  It works.  Hootsuite app and website is a helpful tool for this that allows you to schedule posts in advance.  Or, you can decide what content should go up on which days and make a weekly schedule or monthly chart .  Create a workflow and see how this keeps your content consistent and timely without it feeling like an overwhelming task.
